Colne Valley Viaduct (HS2) Shortlisted for Concrete Society Award

We’re proud to announce that the Colne Valley Viaduct (HS2), a joint entry from Chryso UK and Tarmac, has earned a place on the shortlist for a prestigious Concrete Society Award.

As the longest railway bridge on the HS2 route, the 3.4km Colne Valley Viaduct stands as a landmark infrastructure project. It showcases the power of innovation, collaboration and advanced concrete technology.

Throughout the project, Chryso worked closely with Tarmac and the wider project team. Together, they delivered high-performance self-compacting concrete for the viaduct’s iconic V-shaped piers. In addition, Chryso provided bespoke mix designs for more than 1,000 precast deck segments.

As a result, this Concrete Society Award shortlist recognition highlights the expertise and teamwork behind one of the UK’s most significant engineering achievements. We’re delighted to see The Concrete Society recognise this exceptional collaboration. We also wish all shortlisted projects the very best of luck. 🏆
